This is a blog documenting the found object mandalas hand-stitched by Susan Lenz. The series was started in August 2020. The series debuted in the 2021 Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show and was accepted into the 2022 Smithsonian Craft Show. It returned to Philadelphia in 2022. Since then, the series was picked up for representation at the Grovewood Gallery in Asheville, NC and Spalding Nix Fine Art in Atlanta, GA.

Mandala XCV
Mandala XCV. 2021. Custom framed: 38" x 38". Found objects
hand-stitched to a section of a vintage quilt. Found objects include:
Two clock faces; copper pastry molds; shower curtain hangers; assorted
bottle caps; keys; laminated Tampa Nugget cigar bands and late
1930s/early 1940s Christmas seals; wavy hair curlers; green casino
chips; blue and white plastic bottle lids; sewing machine bobbins;
buttons; and colorful, vintage Christmas light reflectors.
